1. Laxative effect - Commonly used by many as a laxative, i recommend a lot of people not to make it a habit forming drug for constipation, can be used on regular basis but if taken for 3 months, recommended to take a break for a month. it can also be lightly fried with castor oil if you are a Vata type so it doesn't increase dryness in the body.

2. weight reduction - this is my favorite drug of choice used in my clinic for weight reduction, while there are so many  expensive drugs which are available in market, this is a simple and effective herb that can also be used in practise. a minimum of 2 grams per day could be used on empty stomach ( in the beginning could give some cramps but later your body gets adjusted, however if the cramps persists speak to your Ayurveda specialist or Ayurveda physician.

3.  Rasayan (Rejuvenator) or a general tonic if you take it in morning on empty stomach, which helps to improve health of your body tissues

4. Detox of impurities and Ama - also know to cleanse the blood and the blocked toxins in the intestines and also the blockages of circulatory system.  along with laxative effect can also used as a detox herbal formulation for 14 to 21 days.

5. Wound Healing - Tripahala concoction can be prepared and used to heal wounds and ulcers , and also in diabetic wounds. regular washing with turmeric and concoction of triphala has wonderful results.
