What tips can people use in Covid 19 – lockdowns.

Dear readers, ( I am writing this post keeping in mind the patient  I see in my clinic, who have become tired or fatigued or emotional due to staying most of the times in their home ,just like i advise my patients, I thought to write this as many more could be benefited)

Namaste!!!

Considering todays situation, with most of the countries going in lock downs and less of movement, we are finding

1 . The heaviness in the body is increasing (we can call it Kapha increase or also blockage of Nadis / meridians)

2. The mind becomes too active and Rajasic quality of mind becomes very fast.

This is a very general thing I have observed in my daily practice, apart from many imbalances.

I have been recommending simple tips during this days – and we see a lot of improvement.

Simple changes when you are in lock down can be practiced

Like the following

1.

POOR MAN WALK MILES TO EARN THEIR BREAD AND RICH WALK MILES TO DIGEST THE BREAD

this is a very good saying for all of us.  According to Ayurveda, after a meal one should do SAHASRAPAULI, (Sanskrit word) which means walk 1000 steps. In earlier times man worked very hard and so was the food very important for us but today most of us have sedentary lifestyle, so do you still think that same amount of food is required. We are also observing that many people just lay on the sofa or bed after their meal and this could make them more lethargic too.

Our team agrees that most common disorders are due to wrong lifestyles and thus we have taken up this challenge to guide people in changing their lifestyle depending on their body type, age, etc.

2.We recommend either hot water, Cumin herb tea, or soup as an evening fast if you feel the earlier food is not metabolized, this can be done once or twice a week for dinner

3. Singing / dancing / chanting is a good way to release old emotions and let go the bad things, this is very important as all the negative news all time makes mind frustrated and so singing and dancing produces good, positives hormones.

4. Yoga / chi-gong /tai-chi – Just like walking , spend some time of the day doing some movement since you cannot go out, at least yoga or chi gong doesn’t take up much space and can be done in a small spacious room too. Helps for blood circulation and good energy flow in body.

5. Pranayama –

Today the whole world knows about pranayama.

Especially I recommend Nadi –Shodhan pranayama technique as it is useful for many reasons.

This kind of pranayama helps stimulate melatonin and also increase the oxygen levels in blood and helpful in staying youthful and happy.

I hope this few Tips will be helpful.

Vata - learn more about it

Vata also known as Vayu, is a combination of Air and Space Elements. why is it important to know more about Vata ? being air dominant it has features - 1. Moving - which brings lack of Grounding in the person, when it affects the mind. it makes the thoughts and actions in mind to increase, the person finds it difficult to Focus and also sit at one place. I also find people they are really not able to listen to others since their mind is making constant thoughts. Moving quality also helps the person not to go in deep sleep. How to balance  ? Understanding Rheumatoid arthritis in Ayurveda

The concept of Ama has been for centuries discussed in Ayurveda. This concept of Ama is used in treatment of rheumatism. We shall try to understand initially what the word AMA means. Ama is commonly used for toxins or undigested food. According to Ayurveda, person who has a lower rate of cellular metabolism or Agni leads to collection of toxins. Usually people think if they have good metabolism at digestive tract they should be very healthy.  Ayurveda mentions about metabolism or Agni at different levels so we should more think of cellular metabolism as a whole. Agni can be understood at various levels; Jatarangi –  metabolism at Gastrointestinal tract Bhutagni –  metabolism at 5 elemental level Dhatvagni –  metabolism at 7 tissue level Considering these 13 types of Agni we could say in general as metabolism at cellular level. Weakness to any of the above mentioned Agni results in Ama. Rheumatism can be more closely related to Ama-Vata mentioned in Ayurveda texts, as we find
